Under threatening skies and good ( usually) winds, 4 skippers competed today. 12 races were completed (2 throwouts) and when results were revealed Cliff totaled 10 points for the convincing win.

With very light and at times non-existent breeze, the racing started.  After a dead boat retrieval just before the first race, racing commenced 20 minutes late.  The breeze just got worse with the first 2 races taking 30 minutes each, including 2 boats stuck together, then the next 4 pushed us until 2:20.  After theContinue reading “Cliff wins V36”

Cliff wins V36 race 3 held at Rosemary Pond due to poor surface conditions (weeds, algae and general pond scum) at Sandy Pond thanks to the Minuteman Model Yacht Club.

Nice, nearly constant wind from the East made for good sailing. Unfortunately heavy mist was present for most of the day. Cliff’s winch broke just before the start, keeping him on the beach for the afternoon. Dave sailed his newly acquired boat well- including a win in one of the races.

The VM regatta was cut short before the minimum amount of races were completed because of a medical emergency. A poll was taken after the ambulance left to not continue the regatta.
